This was outstanding, thank you so much for doing this for us!!! It would be amazing if snap turn could be done by using the joysticks on the rift instead of pressing the trigger and then the Y button. But absolutely amazing job, thank you thank you thank you!!!

On May 5, 1992, id Software released Wolfenstein 3D. Known as the grandfather of modern first-person shooters and groundbreaking in it's design, Wolfenstein 3D set a new, higher standard for action games.
In 1993, Alternate Worlds Technology, Inc. (AWT) first attempted to bring Wolfenstein to virtual reality. With the use of Polhemus tracker technology, they created an arcade-style head-mounted display version of Wolf3D aptly named "Wolfenstein VR."
Now, modern virtual reality tech allows us to step inside the castle once again in this tribute to one of the greatest games ever made.
Presented here is the "shareware release" of Wolfenstein 3D as you've never experienced it before. Brave ten levels of labyrinth-like halls, killer dogs, secret passages, and an army of Nazi forces as you try to make your daring escape in Wolfenstein 3D VR!

Hey, great game :) is it possible to play more than the shareware version of the game?
Just closes when i try to open it on WMR.
i think they mean you can run it on steam using WMR
I used SteamVR.
I successfully launched it today in WMR just by running the Wolf3DVR.exe file (normal steam was open in the background but I didn't launch it from there). I couldn't get the hang of the turning feature unfortunately.
I really loved it, shame about the strange inverted snap turn/trigger hold in to turn set up, I would be 100% immersed otherwise, great job!
I been stuck in vr for hours,its so real I forgot I was in a game.lol

Please see this as another call for support for the retail episodes! Perhaps it would be possible to validate that I already own the original game's data files (I own the game on Steam) to enable the remaining episodes?

Smooth turning yet??
It's pretty fun, sometimes my hand and my gun are on the floor and spazzing until they teleport back into my hands but other than that it's pretty fun!
Could we please have an option to let the right joy stick rotate us smoothly with no buttons held? (Oculus)
Thanks for the update that corrects the snapturn.
The snap controls appear to be backwards on the rift controllers. Holding the left trigger, then clicking the joystick on the left side snaps the camera to the right. Clicking the joystick on the right side snaps the camera left.
Why not include smooth turning?
I really want to play this but I dont have any sound. My sound is working in steam vr overlay and home but the game is silent. Any idea what the problem could be?
in the windows seting change the sound to cd not dvd thats an rift problem after that it should work
As a streamer on Twitch, I LOVE playing this VR version of the game on stream, as my viewers seem to enjoy it! I am 36, and played the original of this as a kid, and loved playing it then!! Keep up the great work!! =)
EDIT: I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE POSSIBILITY OF BRINGING UP THE MAP! PERHAPS USING THE MENU BUTTON TO BRING UP THE MAP?!
Snapturn isn't working correctly for me on rift. Holding trigger and pressing "y' turns 90 degrees to the right, and I can't seem to snap turn any other direction no matter what button combo. Also, pressing y without the trigger toggles run, instead of clicking the stick like it's supposed to be.

Awesome! Thanks for making this. Even with these minor control issues, i'm honestly having a huge blast with this. Those SS and K9 units really get my heart pumping every time I open a door and they sound off :-D. I've been dreaming of playing this since I was a kid, thanks for all your hard work!

This VR version is an opportunity to play wolfenstein3D again in a more immersive way.
- Is there "sensitivity control" for trackpad? Sometimes the movement is too fast for me.
- Is there any possibility (now or future) to mod the game? For example: change textures or models?
Is it possible to do a release on daydream and mobile vr ?

Are there any issues with downloading? I click on download and the new window opens. It says the download will start shortly but it never does. I have tried it in three browsers and two different computers. I would love to try the game. Thanks.
Please add support on the oculus rift to free turn (not snap) by using the right thumbstick. That would make the game perfect. Currently there is no way to turn using the touch controllers. The game looks amazing and i hope you re-make more classics in VR. Or maybe add an option for snapturn too for people who prefer that, but also have free turn.

Tried it on the Rift and everything was fine apart from the gun aiming. You have to hold the gun facing forwards & down at a 45 % angle. My video should be up tomorrow. GREAT JOB GUYS! - Please do more classics.
This would be amazing if other games with this engine would work. Like Corridor 7. :)
Great work!! Tested on windows Odyssey and for the most part had good results however the arms were rotated like 15 degrees to the right of me. I'm still doing other calibrations to make sure that im not the reason for that issue.
id also love to see easy rotations with swipes or something on the pad this way if i dont want to face my pc I can rotate the world a little :)
This is awesome! What I'd like most is an always run option or a toggle button.
Is there no way to switch the movement direction to controller based and not headset based? I really liked the game but felt sick after the first level.

I switched the orientation from HMD to controller, doesn't seem to behave any differently. I'm on a Vive Pro. Also, being able to click the left or right side of the track pad and change orientation 90 degrees would be amazing. I have to turn so much I get wrapped up in my cable.
Please port these two exactly as they are, with your enhancements of course :) Best versions of Doom in my opinion. The soundtracks alone are full of atmosphere and much better suited than the OST we're all familiar with.
